Tiaki Taonga

Tiaki Taonga means caring for other people,  caring for things,  It is our school Motto for the year,  You can show it by being kind,  We show it lots at P.e School, It’s A Maori Phrase,  It Means Care for it,  People are using it to make other people feel special,  it means to me put yourself in someone else's shoe.  It means to show Empathy.

This Morning we completed a speed writing challenge. In ten minutes we were expected to Give Adefinition about Tiaki Taonga, Ten Things. Then We were Given 5 Minutes to pair share. Here is my result.

Dear Diary today is the 17th of March 1999. Today is the first day of the Boer war In South Africa . The only reason I am here is to show the queen that we are loyal to the british authority. The temperature is fairly decent only because it is morning the temperature is suppose to be hot. My troops follow me through freezing waters and harsh conditions.

My troops are ready to fight. I sent them to burn a few houses down just for fun. As I am lieutenant I lead my troops into war with the Boers. We attack with all our strength and gun them down. As night falls we go in for the kill fast, slick and silent. No screams just a faint slit of a throat.

I’m feeling a bit homesick and missing my children and wife. I am weak from taking thirty gun shots to the torso area. I can see why i’m the lieutenant.

Yesterday I heard people talking about moving to the orange free state to escape the abolishment of the British. I kind of felt like sending a nuke bomb to that state to get smart and so they couldn’t escape the wrath of queen victoria. #ruthless

Most of my men had suffered from severe trench foot. I think we have almost won.

Avatar and goals

The thing I was most proud of last year outside of the classroom was …  Joining the rugby and taking part in extra after school activities because im not being lazy at home.

In reading my learning goal is to …. move up a whole year in reading.

In Maths my goal is to… learn every single basic fact because I am struggling in that area of maths but better in every other.

W.A.L.T Add Detail To My Sentences

while I was walking to school I was a bit anxious and hoping that I wouldn't be in a class with friends that could steer me in the wrong direction and a boring class. I went to the hall for our school Immersion assembly

I saw lots of my friends even ones from a whole range of schools. Embarassing as it is I went to the wrong class for the first half of the day, because there were two calvin's and I went to the wrong Calvin's class. The rest of the day was better I settled into my propper class better.

Thank you to variety club for providing us with presents as well as johnson and johnson and Motat. I will cherish this present and look after it. I am so happy because I can use it as a christmas gift.

I would also like to say that I am grateful for the present I have received. My little cousin will enjoy it I know he likes puzzles. I can’t wait to see his face and it’s all thanks to you so from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Point England School...THANK YOU

Swimming

Last week was our final week of swimming we were learning how to do easier techniques such as an easier way of free style. I was in the lowest group for swimming but was one of the most skilled swimmer in the group. We did Boring stuff and fun stuff.

 The first week of swimming we had to do a test to see what group you were to be put in. I actually think I could've been in a higher group but I had sore ribs the day I did my test. but... a test is a test I couldn't go back and do my test again over all swimming was al right
